Dan Edwards is orginally from Oxford, England and has resided in Cape Town, South Africa for the past nine years. After leaving school Dan Edwards completed a four year mechanical engineering apprenticeship with a government research establishment before joining a blue chip utilities company as part of their research, development and production team in their industrial fuel cell business. In 2003 Dan Edwards left the UK and embarked on a belated gap year through South East Asia and Australia before moving to Cape Town to study at the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town on their Associate in Management programme. It was during this period of study that Dan Edwards decided to seek permanent residence in South Africa and successfully achieved this after a period of temporary work permits in which time he gained experience in SMME businesses under and umbrella group where he was responsible for the Operations Management of these businesses. In 2008 Dan Edwards was appointed to the role of Territory Sales Manager of Betafence South Africa. This role saw him achieve great success in changing the traditional mindset on what a fence should look like by specifiers and public alike, this time also saw Dan Edwards being part of the team that won the contract to manufacture the fence for the fence around Cape Town Stadium which was a key role player in the successful hosting of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. In June 2012 after four successful years with Betafence Dan Edwards was appointed Area Sales Manager of Cisterns for Valsir South Africa. His major role is to grow the concealed cisterns part of the business for the coastal regions of South Africa in a market dominated by one major player. Unfortunately this position did not work out as expected and the company was taken over and Dan retrenched in April 2013. As a result Dan decided to follow his passion and become a fulltime photographer and Marketing and Sales consultant to SMME's and NGO's. Outside of his professional career Dan Edwards has founded Dan Edwards Photography which allows him to pursue his passion for photography in a more professional manner.

My key areas of focus presently as sports and street photography however I do also assist at various weddings with another Cape based photographer and am always open to requests on capturing peoples special moments for them
